Rivka Turgeman was 18 when she sat with a group of other girls on the road leading up to Amona in the hours before daybreak on the day of confrontation. She was trampled by a horse whose horseman not only did not try to avoid her but did not slow down or check to see what her condition was after running her over. While the other girls managed to flee, Rivka remained lying on the road, because her initial injury prevented her from rising, only to be trampled by an addition 4-5 horses whose riders also did not slow or check her condition.
As a result of her injuries to her stomach and hand, Rivka underwent phsical therapy which has left her with 10% handicap in her left hand and mental health issues due to the trauma of what she went through.
The police investigation claimed to be unable to find the individual horsemen directly responsible for Turgeman's injuries even though one specific horseman was warned to learn his lesson from the incident.
The Organization for Human Rights in Yesha's lawyer, PInchas Maoz, has filed suit in a Herzalia court on Turgeman's behalf against the officer in charge of the horsemen since he was present, in charge and responsible for his team.
